Atmos Weather

Atmos Weather is a native SwiftUI weather app with a Node.js backend API. The repo doubles as the example project for the Sentry XcodeBuildMCP workshop — see workshop/README.md for the per-act flow.

Launching Claude from app/ is the boundary that keeps backend/ and workshop/ invisible to the iOS-side agent. app/.mcp.json (managed by the switch script) registers XcodeBuildMCP; app/.xcodebuildmcp/config.yaml provides session defaults. Production-data stages (4/5) get the backend started automatically by switch-stage.sh.

Backend

Start the API server:

cd backend
npm install
npm run dev

The server runs on http://localhost:3001 by default. Set PORT to change it.

iOS app

Build and run with XcodeBuildMCP from the app/ directory:

cd app
xcodebuildmcp simulator build-and-run

Weather data source defaults

The app does not support runtime data-source selection via launch arguments.

• main and workshop stages 1/2/3 default to mock weather data.
• Workshop stages 4/5 default to the production backend at http://localhost:3001/v1.

Start the backend before running production-data stages.

Tests

xcodebuildmcp simulator test

UI tests inherit the branch's hardcoded weather data default. On production-data stages, ensure the backend is running.

API endpoints

The backend serves three GET endpoints under /v1:

Schema files in backend/schemas/ describe the expected response shapes:
